Yes. You remain in control of your providers, supports and decisions. The Good Plan Manager looks after the financial administration of your plan, but we do not choose your providers or make decisions for you. Our role is to give you clear information so you can make informed choices with confidence.

How much does NDIS plan management cost?

If plan management is included in your NDIS plan, the NDIS includes funding for the plan management service. You do not pay The Good Plan Manager directly, and plan management does not reduce the funding allocated to your other approved supports.

How do I know if I my NDIS funding is plan managed?

Accepted Answer

Your NDIS plan or participant portal should show whether each part of your funding is plan managed, self-managed or NDIA-managed. Look for wording such as Plan Managed or Improved Life Choices. Your plan may also use a combination of these options. You can also ask your Support Coordinator, Local Area Coordinator, NDIS contact, nominee or The Good Plan Manager to help you check.

How do I become plan managed?

You can ask for Plan Management during your NDIS planning meeting, plan reassessment or plan variation. Let the NDIS know you would like your funds to be plan managed so you can get help with invoices, budgets and provider payments. Once plan management is included, you can choose The Good Plan Manager as your registered plan management provider. Read the NDIS guidance on becoming plan managed.

Can I use registered and unregistered NDIS providers?

In most cases, plan-managed participants can use both registered and unregistered providers. The support must still meet NDIS requirements and relate to your plan. What is the difference between registered and unregistered providers?

A registered provider has been approved by the NDIS Quality and Safeguards Commission to deliver certain NDIS supports. An unregistered provider has not completed the NDIS registration process. However, they may still be able to provide supports to participants whose funding is plan managed or self-managed. If your funding is plan managed, you can generally choose from both registered and unregistered providers, as long as the support meets NDIS requirements. Some types of support must still be delivered by a registered provider.
